How awful! Poor fish and poor aquarium caretakers, who I'm sure are just heartbroken. :(

Hmmm.... have you updated your homeowners policy? Do they have such a thing as aquarium coverage? If not add a specific flood policy or they will claim its not covered.

Our basement flooded 2 years ago and luckily we still had a flood rider on it from when we had a pool in the backyard, but I can tell you this , they looked for any loophole they could think of to get out of it! In the end it cost them close to $20k to fix everything :)

She failed to provide a driver's license, and she had a 6 year old in her lap with a 17 year old in the back and managed to crash a truck into the side of an airport? Someone should take her privilege to drive away from her, but obviously that wouldn't stop her from driving. I hate stupid people...

She should pay for the tank. And if she can't afford it, she should work for the airport until it's paid off in labor. Or someone crash a tank into her house and aim for the most expensive thing in there. I demand justice!

Obviously I care about the fish lives lost, more than I care about this driver's future wellbeing.

people like this should not be allowed to drive. this could have been much worse. she could have killed the child in her lap for one or some innocent bystander.
of course the loss of the aquarium is bad enough.

Theres something Ive noticed on the comments on that article, about the "poor fish". The article also focuses on the tragedy that was the death of many fish. What everyone loses sight of is how unfortunate that the child is to be driving around with the mother. The fish be damned, its the kid who is the loser here. Mom aught to get a hefty fine, and some counseling. Not to say hes gunna fly through the windshield one day, but you never know. :-/
