I've been trying to get a McCosker flasher wrasse into my DT. I acclimate all fish the same as my wrasse. Float for 15 mins, then every 5 mins add a little water for another 15 mins.

My first one survived 24 hours and my 2nd one survived 48 hours. They were both eating at home and at the LFS. They were from different LFS's.

Both times they just went to the bottom into hiding and rarely if ever came out.

I think since I qt with other fish, they get real shy and really stressed, but no fish has ever bothered them though in QT.

    What am I doing wrong?

Since it's wrasses, you might wanna ask evolved. Maybe you should try QT-ing with just the one fish? +1 to params.

I will try one more time and this time he will be by himself. Will do on the box if I ever happen to get that far with one.

Not sure on params, but it's newly made RO/DI salt water that is seeded by a sponge from my DT.

What's the salinity in your qt and the water that the fish were in at the store? Stores sometimes keep their systems at a much lower salinity and if there is a big difference with you qt that could be the problem.

Yeah, if there's a big difference in salinity, 15 minutes of adding water isn't much time. Also, from the way you worded it and if there is that difference, the fish wouldn't nearly be at your water's salinity. You're going to have to fill the bag up and take a lot of the water back out multiple times.

2 things: I'd acclimate more slowly (drip them), and I'd only have peaceful fish in the QT or QT them alone.

You say "other fish", but you don't say what those other fish are/were in the QT. Flashers are pretty spooky, and if those other fish are at all intimidating, it's hurting your cause.
