I got my first sun coral so I had to get some mysis shrimp to feed it and I had some left over so I decided to feed it to my 2 cardinals and 2 clownfish, and well, they went nuts over it. What if any benefits are there to using just mysis shrimp instead of pellet food? should I make a switch?

I always mix it up. Don't just feed one thing all the time.

    +1 on Scenario

variety is the spice of life and not just for humans
Mysis shrimps are a great natural food albeit in a dead frozen variety
but pellets and flakes have been formulated to include all the basic dietary needs of the fish and as such could maintian them in good health for long periods

but probably gets a little boring/ repetitive for the fish hence adding some other food stuffs / mixing it about , will get this excited reaction from the fish

What is a good brand of flake food? I got the nutramax stuff because my pup chewed the other fishfood I had and ntramax was all the local pet store had. I also have frozen brine with nutrients.

I have used tetra marine flakes and recently got some Ocean Nutrition pellets and prime reef flakes

not sure what the general consensus on best is , probably varies from region to region, person to person.

I also feed cyclopeeze twice a week, my clowns hunt it down and some of my corals/ inverts can also benefit from it

but a mix of frozen foods is also good mysis, brine, etc
