Mystery Crab has a bad day

So I haven't been home in about 13 Days. I finally get to go tonight. But we have had this mystery crab in the tank for some time now. It has really gotten big. We would watch it to ensure it wasn't eating polyps and becoming a Bother but last night my wife sent this. I hope to find the killer when I get home

 

um kinda looks like a emrald crab...idk why but mine didnt last very long.. i dont know if they just die quickly or what...if that is an emerald that is .

It's kinda funny. I got home and cleaned up the mess then I noticed a very large purple claw coming from the LR. Another one. Bigger than that one that died. Man I keep finding new critters in my tank even after 2 1/2 years

Perhaps the crab just molted? If there is a bigger one just like that one.....?

Yup! Molts of my shrimp even had anntennae! gross if you ask me!

My hermit crab molts I swore were dead crabs too!

 

YA. As BL said, they molt everything, and you do not know if they are dead or it is the skin until you see them moving. What is worse, is that they always turn from a lizard into Godzilla after they molt.
