So I've had my BM NAC6 sitting in my garages for monthes now. Bought it for my 75 I'm building, but that's taking forever since I don't wanna set it up until I move. The forclosed house I'm trying to buy is taking forever to close on. So I've got a ton of crap sitting in my garage waiting to be put together. Blah, blah, blah...
So I starting messing with my fuge today (20g DT, 20g fuge) and actually managed to squeeze the BM in there...barely :p.
Think it's fine to run that big of a skimmer in there? 40 gallons total, but still seems like overkill. Won't really hurt anything will it?
    Thanks,

i'm not an expert, but i don't think you're going to hurt anything. i'm pretty sure that Matt runs one on his system and that's only like 60 gallons total.

You want an answer here it is, why use it now if you don't need to, why put the wear and tear on the pump just becasue you cannot wait till your big tanks is put up. Like a little kid with a new toy, LOL put it back in the box and leave it there till your big tank is up.

    Thanks, Peter.
Didn't even think about Matt running it on his. I was thinking his system was bigger than that.

You're right, I did kinda feel like a kid wanting to play with my new toy ;D. Honesty I just really wanted to see how it performed. I figure it'll only be running on this system for the next month or two. Just wanted to make sure it wouldn't hurt anything by "over-skimming".

Over skimming could be a legitimate concern depending on what is in the tank. If it becomes a concern, only run it a few hours a day or every other day etc. A timer will be needed though and you must make sure the pump can operate with a timer.

I have a few fish, some softies, and a cuc in there now.
I'm not too sure about running it on a timer? It's an atman pump that came with the skimmer.

I looked at your pump, it looks o.k. What I meant is that some pumps don't always start back up once turned off, they need a little bump or even the impeller spun to get going again.
