Naitrate spikes ! looking for solution

    Ok , solved the PH problem easy , regarding the tab water , i made 3 tests today , one for tab water direct , NO3 is zero , made a test then to the tab water with salt that i make , NO3 is zero , made a test for my tank water after 4 water changes so far within 7 days , NO3 is still 40 or above alittle !!! can't understand from where this nitrate is coming !!!! going crazy .

    Not exactly sure why your Nitrates are so high but if you used LR in the tank you may be experiencing some die off.
    The Carnation coral requires low lighting combined with medium to strong water movement.It is quite normal from them to droop as they do not grow up but down. It is necessary to have a constant current with an abundance of algal plankton.
    It does not contain the symbiotic algae zooxanthellae. Therefore, its diet should include live, baby brine shrimp, micro-plankton, and other small foods designed for filter feeding invertebrates, in order to survive in the reef aquarium. These foods must be available almost constantly.This is not an easy coral to keep and should only be attempted by an experienced reefer.

    Have heard that nitrite and nitrate tests can give false test results in newer tanks.

    Also, with the crustaceans you described as missing or dead earlier in the thread - your salinity might be a bit low at 1.022. Inverts like it a bit higher. Did you get the carcasses out before they decayed? That could be your nitrates.
