    Hello,

I am new to saltwater and so far I am loving it, although finding the right fish has been a challenge. I have a clown, blue tang, yellow watchmen and black and white damsel. I want a Green Mandarin, but I was told that you have to feed them offten and they can be a lot of hard work for a newbie like me....
what other kinds of fish would give me color and be happy with the one's that I have? Thanks for any help. Nancy ;D

Welcome... what size tank.. do not want to overstock. Do you have a skimmer?

Mandarins are tricky as they need pods to survive.. some will eat frozen but still need pods setup in a tank to fully be healthy.

    welcome to 3 reef Nancy

as rightly mentioned above - tank size will affect any fish ideas given to you
in salt water tanks a general rule of thumb is 1 inch of fish, not including tail, per 4 gallons of water and you need to base your stocking on the potential adult size of the fish
rather than the size they are when purchased

this rule is about the systems capacity to support that amount of life and can vary from one tank to another in practice.

there are other principles - swimming space for active fish , which over rule the inch per 4 gallon ratio

if you give tank dimensions along with your current stock list, you will get some more ideas
