After reading through heaps of your threads/posts, alot of you seem to take your lighting very seriously, with timers for different lights to switch on and off. Im new to reefing, so bare with me...
I have 3 lights in my 26G. A purple UV looking thing, a normal tube light thing and some blue LED lights. I know the LEDs go on at night for moon light. What about the other 2? I normally just have both on all day until I get home.
    Any tips?

you can leave the moonlights on all the time.. Set the "purple" aka actinic lights to come on in the morning...after one hour have the white lights come on...let all of the lights stay on for about 6-8 hours. Then have the white lights turn off. Finally let the actincs stay on for another hour after the white lights turned off.
you do that to basically simulate dawn-day-dusk-night

    Thanks for the tips!
Nah i have no idea, I will have a wee look when I get home. I doubt they will be fancy/powerful ones as they came bundled with the tank.
