    FYI

Was just doing weekly water changes and tank equip maintenance...when I found I was doing something I only figured out recently....

When going to do water change/cleaning in Nano, after first turning off all pumps, lights, skimmer etc and pulling plug from powerstrip to wall....

Take off top if you have one....

First Pull out all filters in back chambers...

(This is Point!) - Then when they are out, using your handy turkey baster, suck out bottoms of filter/pump chambers in back of tank...(Squirt into glass and see how much skum/gunk comes out of them each week....)

Only after doing this, proceed with changing out water...

Reason for doing last, is no way to keep some bottom scum getting away into water column while you are cleaning filter compartments - might as well go with the waste water you are pulling out afterwards.

Obvious to most maybe, but is one of those things I wish I had thought of earlier or someone else pointed out to me....

May be of help to some and I guess some could care less...:-/

(I am real big on water clenseness and clarity!!...;D)

The RSM is notorius for getting a bunch of gunk built up in the rear filter area. Especially if you still have the stock stuff that comes with it. +1
