Awesome! To my knowledge aquapods have a built in filter like the bio and nano cube.

Just go ahead and post the link on here. There shouldn't be any problems with it.

Looks like a great deal. The stand is a little over kill lol, but it will hold that tank with no problems. Looks like you will have to continue with your diy LED build lol.

I told my dad I was looking to start this project. He gave me a rather demoralizing talk about how this is not the correct time for this because of my impermanent housing condition. He wants me to wait until I'm in grad school. There is also stuff going on with his contract expiring at work so his future job is still up in the air :( my mother is already pissed about my cichlids project I gave to my dad. I feel like this is still a great deal and I shouldnt pass it up.

It's frustrating. I'm not saying he's wrong but I really want to experience this hobby.

    He still loves me though.

I say respect what your parents have to say. It sounds like your dad is just trying to look out for you. But on the other hand, you are 20 years old and capable of making your own decisions. Saltwater will always be here, and is only getting better.

Helluva deal for sure. I would pounce on that rather quickly if it were near me :)

Respect the rents...that being said, I agree with Stick. You are an adult and need to take the things your dad said into consideration when thinking about the project, but ultimately it's your call or it should be. I would pickup the tank and then take my time to really think it through. If you decide not to do it then you could probably make a little money on the setup by re-selling at tax time ;)

I will call him this afternoon after I finish my last finals. I don't want to miss this opportunity but also know that it will be difficult. How challenging is it to move a 20ish gallon sw tank? I have a 6 hour drive from home to school. I was planning on keeping the fish in a small insulated cooler wih a portable air stone. For he live rock and corals I was planning on keeping them submrsed in a bucket and secured so they won break (perhaps isolate the corals). Any suggestions?

How good of a deal is 80 for that tank and supplies. They showed me the fixture they had been using. They have successfully kept softies and some basic corals.

The finances for his project, just like my few tanks, would be entirely financed by myself. I am fortunate though because my schooling however is being financed by my parents so I don't want to disrespect that.

Are you sure you can't have someone take care of the tank while your gone? Maybe just get an auto feeder of your only gone a week or so? It's really stressful on fish and corals and you run the risk of die off and mini cycles. Sorry to be a party pooper.
