I just set up the JBJ 24g Deluxe and am having a couple probs please help me out.

    1. The heat in tank is @90 WITHOUT a heater. Only two mj1200s in the tank. I just messured the temp here at 12am wihtout heater in it and lights are off and its 88.

    2. Have any of you glued the MS Skimmer to the tank mine keeps falling of when the water lvl adjusts the smallest amount.

    3. My one MJ1200 That I have for circulation inside tank keeps falling off the glass. It has 3 suction cups on it two on top and one on bottom. However the top ones seem to keep loosing suction?

    Thanks Guys.

the MS skimmer will fall off if you have to much or too little water in the main chamber, it's held on by the suction of water going over it into the back chamber so it takes some playing with but once the water lvl is correct it will stay in place.

how hot is the room your keeping the tank in, ambient temp is usually the biggest reason for a boiling hot tank

90 is hot. Nothing could survive that for very long. The deluxe is the mh right? Also the two mj 1200 in a 24 might be too much. Try adding a fan to the tank. My bc8 stays at 85 during the day, only if the room is hot. That will be your biggest factor. I have added a 5 $ fan to the top of it and it stays pretty cool. This will also help you bulbs run better.

Oh you have one in the tank and one as an upgrade to the stock pump. That should be fine. have you tryed putting a spinner on the maxi jet? Also don't see any problem glueing the skimmer to the tank. You should only ever have to replace the pump. just make sure you don't glue that and you can access it.

No im getting the deflector for it. However, I wouldnt think spinning water would remove degrees. The ambenent temp for room is about 80 no more or id turn the ac on myself lol. I lifted the hood and it did nothing. I might go out and buy some 80mm fans and integrat them into the hood hope it helps. I just turned one of the mjs off to see if this helps. ill update later.

    Correction room temp. 74.

That is probably the problem is the temperature of the room is the temperature your tank is supposed to be. So when you turn on the lights it will increase even more. Are there fans on the hood? to let the hot air from the lights out?
    good luck

The hood is build preaty cool. It actually closes off the lights and houses them with two fans to help with cooling. There are also 2 inluts for air as well on the hood.

I just lifted the hood and turned off the one powerhead. The heater I had in there has been removed for over 12hrs now. Will retemp soon.

it's not the hood's fault and the 24DX is a 72w PC setup not MH
80 in the room is to high without a chiller running 24x7 lower the room temp to 75ish and you'll be fine
