    Hello hello,
I am somewhat new to the hobby, less than a year, but have had some success with freshwater planted tanks 10 and 20gallon, and a 30g brackish: 1green spotted puffer,3 freshwater flounder, so far so good as I have learned my lesson on overstocking.
Being the "do-it-yourselfer" I am turning my 10 gallon into a nano-reef, but I want to section of part of it for a over-flow to a bio filter/chemical filter insert section, with a power-head for the return. just like the jbj does, seems simple enough to me but I have not found anyone on the net that has done this without buying the complete unit or building a sump.

yeah the false back works really well it's easily done with either some glass or acrlyic depending on what your 10 gallon display is, if it's glass you need to do a glass wall if it's acrylic then you need to use acrylic

i dont know if thats corresct ive seen some people use accrilc on a glass tank its much cheaper and easyer to drill for a powerhead return and the over flow.
