Impressive set-up and very attractive tank. I really like how you built up the LR.

took a sample of water to the LFS today....ammonia, ws through the roof, nitrate was very high too and the nitrate had a good size spike going on...i asked the to also check the SG of the water, said it was way too high and i should bring it down...their refractometer said it was 1.025...i chuckled when he said to bring it down to .022-.023...

anyway...see what next week brings for tests...i just dont feel like buying all new kits for stuff i will likely never test again...at least i didnt with my old tank...might pick up a NO3 kit though...and certainly get a pH and ALK...the rest...meh...over complicates things and takes up too much space in the stand...large water changes should keep things in check anyway..

i am actually afraid to know how much this has cost so far...i dont think say 200$ would be out of the realm of possibility though, and that is likely conservative..and doesnt include the " i am going to try this, wait that wont work, good thing i cut the package to bits and modified the snot out of the product days" as there where a couple projects to this i could have gone without while doing this...

however i got my Optics and holders today...tank is much brighter now and not so much light on the walls anymore, in fact there isnt any spread on the tank's glass anymore..

I built mine to test out LEDs, the plan was to sell it when I was done...at least that's what I told my wife while I was building it ;D....it was a small project but I put a lot of work into it, and everyone that saw it so far seem to like it...so I'm keeping it, what's another 5 gallons? 8)

okay diatoms are pretty much gone now...i added some caulerpa prolifera, 2 nassarius snails and 2 blue leg hermits, there was a tonne of pods and mini brittle stars and bristle worms in the caulerpa too...

they only other inhabitants will be a pair of cleaner shrimp...then the corals can start when i know the system can handle the NO3...will have to get another test done to see where it is at after adding the crabs...

anyway i will get a pic or two up tomorrow...
