I currently in the market for a nano tank. Want a 29 to a 32 gallon. Someone please help me decide on which one to go with... they all sound good. JBJ, Red Sea, or Oceanic?????

I am not familiar with the Red Sea.

I have had both the BioCube and currently have a JBJ. I think I like the JBJ slightly better. Both are good tanks for Nano's though in my experience, as is the Aquapod, but I do not know if they still make the aquapod.

High end tanks like Solana, Cardiff are nice but more expensive.

    Welcome to 3reef.

Thank you! I'm leaning towards the JBJ 29 gallon LED Pro. I want grow all corals and have a clam but affraid I will have to run a chiller with everything else. JBJ is the only one that carries the LED as far as i know.

You'll prob be happier w/ the JBJ. I've had to upgrade almost everything on my biocube from skimmers and pumps, to lights and filters. Although now it's running very superbly and I'm very happy as it's my first saltwater tank. Next time I do a build it'll probably take a lot longer. I want to order unique colored lps and zoo's

How did your Skimmer upgrade go? Are you happy with the Hydro? Did you have to perform any mods for it to fit?

I run the JBJ HQI metal halide, I do not run a chiller any longer and live in Arizona but I make it work. I would not be the least bit worried about extreme temps with the LED model. There seems to be a lot of concern on the net about JBJ and temp issues, I have every nano cube they make and I have never had extreme issues with heat, that I could not correct with an additional fan, changing lighting periods, so on so forth.

Any advise to a new Nano owner? I'm going to pick it up on Saturday and hope to have sand, rock, and water in by Saturday night. What skimmer are you using? Are you happy with the wave maker and return flow? Any advise would be awesome!

No skimmer now, used the Tunze 9002 and loved it, you need to make some modifications with it though and get the Intank collection cup. I strongly encourage new hobbyist to run one. There are a couple brands that work and fit in the nano but for the life of me I can not remember the 2 most popular. Hopefully someone else can assist in that department.

I was not really impressed by the wave maker, never used it long term and still have it.

For flow I strongly encourage the addition of either Koraila power heads in the display or if you can afford it an MP10.

The InTank media basket is a cool/helpful item to have as well.

My tank is mostly sps dominated, my avatar is one of my acropora so my tank is somewhat modified for intensive lighting and high flow. The corals you desire to keep will guide you in future modifications to what ever nano you choose.

You might want to take a look at this thread, there are some different perspectives on the JBJ.

Personally i'd get my feet wet with a pico to test the waters :) I'd recommend the 8 gallon long/shallow tank that microreef had made for them. It looks gorgeous.
