OK, I have it narrowed my skimmer choice down to AquaC EV-240, PM Bullet-2 or a Deltec turbo 1250. I know that it mainly personal choice with this one, but has anyone used a Deltec before?

    TIA, John.

Well if its going on a 75 gal tank ? then a Bullet 1 will run away with it hell even on a 180 the bullet 1 would do the job I've used them all and have a few laying around then I found about the bullets . Best skimmer I ever ran. The Bubble King is about the only skimmer I have not owned or used so i can't comment on them.. Jason Mc here uses one and says its a great skimmer I'd take his word for it any day.

I think that all those skimmers are overkill for a 75g, not to mention a small fortune. Luna

I hear ya, Luna, but there are advantages to certain aspects of overkill in this hobby. 2-400W halides over a 20G long tank is preposterous. It has lots of disadvantages I don't need to list. Using a 55G tank as a sump for a 30 G tank is just as silly. It costs too much and doesn't have any appreciable benefits over a sump half its size.

Protein skimming is alltogether a different animal. When it comes to protein skimming, other than spending too much, there's really no downside to purchasing more than you think you need. The list of advantages outweighs any potential disadvantage. With an overkill skimmer you can use it on this tank, and once you upgrade, put it on your next tank too. Also, there's no such thing as removing too much dissolved organics from the water column. You either get enough DOCs out to accomplish your goals, or you don't. The downside with getting a skimmer rated right at your tank capacity is you run the risk of it underperforming and not removing what you need it to remove, then you're in trouble.

Don't be such a downer. You already give people a hard enough time about their lack of pic's!! Let the man spend his money!!! LOL. ;D

I would vote for the Bullet Series. I have one and it has done a awesome job on my tank.

Yeah.....I think I am going to notch it down one. I am just used to a POS Jebo skimmer and want my tank to be happy. So the Deltec for a 75 is true overkill. Now it's down to the EV 120 or Bullet 1. It's eBay time!!!! This is fun.

Don't get me wrong here as Delteck is a damn good skimmer But Deltec is way over rated its a skimmer and I'll set a turbo flotor right beside a deltec and it will do as good of , if not better job For a lot less money..

I think all 3 skimmers you have listed are Great, and will more than do the job for you.

There is a little more maintenance with the Bullet. just that the air injector needed to be cleaned on occasion, but the Becket injector is a great air injector system.
I'm not familiar with the AquaC but have heard great things about them. The Deltec is another top notch skimmer
It appears you have researched all your skimmers in the same bioload/tank size range and picked 3 great ones. now I would look for easy of maintenance and quality of materials.
