My naso tang that I got about 4 days ago is not eating. its just hiding in one of the caves and runs away when I walk into the room. I tried feeding red seaweed, flakes, pellets, mysis shrimp..even soaked in garlic...

    Is he stressed? Tank grounded?

Go get some brine shrimp, turn off the lights dump them in and back up and stay still and watch. Sounds to me like he’s stressed – Live Brine Shrimp are like potato chips on football Sunday….they just can’t say no.

Really not much you can do, just try to make him comfortable. Perhaps removing another fish or turning off your lights for a day might help. What do you think is causing it?

I had the same thing happen with a Naso i bought a long time ago...he didnt eat at all and ended up dying...WHICH IS WHY i now make the LFS feed the fish in front of me before I buy...no eat, no buy...its not rude to ask them to feed...its smart :)

Great advice to "live" by. I also think it encourages the LFS be more responsible with the acquisition and care of their livestock.

Hopefully he will make it.... I have had some fish that took about a week to acclimate. So, turn off the lights and wait a while... he might make it. Probably just stressed. Did you find out how long you lfs had kept him/quarantend him?
