    hi everyone

i recently got a bag of 20 lbs nature's ocean live sand for my 12g tank,
bag looks little too dry with very little water in it, my question is should i exchange the bag with more water in it? more water = more fresh sand?

IMO I dont believe in the live sand in a bag, I think alot of it Dies off from what I remember... Not sure how it actually all works since its Bio active and all. I just stuck with making my own live sand! :). I love Oceans Nature Sand. I used it in both my 120g and 46g.

Hrm, hard to say. When I've purchased Caribsea's Arag-alive product, there was maybe half a cup of water in a 20lb bag. That's not much in my opinion but that's how all of them were.

It's better to get a cup of sand from established tank (from LFS or other reefers in your area) and seed the dry sand. Live sand in package are over-rated and not worthy of the price.
