Neat tank Nealio, are they a "mated" pair?

    Thanks! I appreciate it.
No idea to be honest. Their is little to no information to aid in identifying puffer sex, and nobody (as far as I know) has successfully mated puffers in captivity so far, but who knows.

Yes I have! That was cute. Snails are a little tricky. I had to smash a couple against the glass for them to figure out they were food.

About the shrimp, I meant to say freeze dried. I've seen frozen shrimp feeding before, but seems like too much work for me.

    Hi all good thread.
We just got a green spotted puffer...we named him Spot, was what my daughter wanted. He finally ate something..yay! Thought he was gonna starve himself. He's in a weakly brackish tank about 1.005 SG, I'm guessing because the cheap hygrometer doesn't go that low. So far he's been good to all the other fish even the bumblebee gobies. He's the one who gets chased around. I even put him in with some baby platies hoping he'd eat them(because he wouldn't accept any other food & by that time the LFS was closed) and he didn't even try. So looks like we lucked out with a nice one. Very picky eater though. Will try the freeze dried shrimp. We did add some ghost shrimp to the tank and looks like he did get one.

They can be quite finicky, and difficult to take care of. At one point I had 3 GSPs and a Figure-8. They are easily stressed and usually won't eat until they relax. I'd keep your eye on the other fish once he gets settled in. They can be quite aggressive, often sneaking up on fish instead of outright chasing them.

I also forgot to mention that they should be getting a new home tomorrow. I found a 29G tank at a local thrift store, but I didn't have enough cash on me at that time. Not to mention, I think they lighting may change once again to a pair of 24" NO T5s.

I'm definitely keeping my eye on Spot (the GSP) the first sign of aggression and he'll be in solitary confinement in the extra 10 gallon tank I have. He'll be fine in there for a while...hes only about 2" right now.

The mean black skirted tetra, rosey barb and rainbow shark are keeping him in line. Yes they have all adapted to slightly brackish water.

And yay for a new tank and lighting. Your fish will love it.

    Don't forget the pics. :)
