I almost had a bad and detrimental event happen to me the other day, or should I say a detrimental event happen to my 5" Squamosa clam and a couple pieces of coral.
My Red-Lipped Blenny keeps flying around my tank like it is on speed and eventually knocks things over like some of my frags. well, this time
my Blennies nervous behavior almost cost my Clam its life as A couple of sps fargs and a 3" piece of live rock fell from the top of my tank and ended up landing on top of my Squamosa. In doing so the rock landed just right to lodge itself between the clams shell and and large piece of live rock at the bottom of my tank where my clam calls home!!
I ws fortunate to see that as I periodically go into my fish room at night to check the temp and this sort of problem. I removed the rock and set up my rock and corals again hopefully, as to not have this reoccurring situation take place.
There have been other instances where this has happened and have actually lost some frags behind my rock work. I don't want to uproot my rock work in efforts to find the frag as I am afraid that problems on a much larger scale will result.
I guess, the main reason for me writing this is to make you guys aware of this scinario and that it could happen at any time either due to a fish, invert or water movement from a powerhead or wave maker!!!
In the end my Clam is fine and opened up a few hours later fortunately...I know how easy it is to stress out Tridacna's!!!!!!
Enough said!!! Best of luck with your tank(s) fellow reefers!;D

Hahahahaha! I wish and the thing is, is it is such a pretty and interesting fish which eats algae like Tangs...it is always grazing but ends up resting all over my tank unfortunately on top of coral and live rock and then gets hyper as it goes from one part of my tank to another...that is where the problems start!!!

Yeah, I know...however, many times the glue or epoxy dosn't take and they end up falling down again(frags)!
I have many corals that are attached though not very firmly to another rock in the vacinity and don't want to disturb that growth! I will come up with something...Thanks guys!
