Thanks, yes it's a 55g. I do love it, it's just I'm so ocd and want it to be perfect and of course there is no perfect, but it's def nice to see it come together like it has in a short time, lots of hard work and patience paid off.

I would venture the "most" important thing to a successful reef tank is frequent learning from 3reef.com

I learn something nearly everytime I come to this site.

I think the essentials have been described above. There are several not quite "essentials" that I wouldn't do without though even though you can be successful without them... ATO System, auto-doser for supplements

Oh it will, check this tank out, when I see it, my tank runs and hides it tail. I wish this thing was mine!

You only need two things, how you accomplish these can be complicated or simple, but these two things aren't difficult to understand.

    Good/clean water and good lighting.

To be frankly honest Mojoe, that is a nice tank, but i like yours better, just look like more going on in yours.

And John-all the mentioned advice is great, just start slow and with easy stuff while getting your tanks water chemistry stable and mature, but most importantly keep reading on here.I lurked for 2 years before becoming a member here and have to say i learned reef keeping right here, been in it for about 3 years total and i never stop learning more.Best of luck to you!
