Sorry; I hope that I am not beating this topic to death but after searching the forums most of the post are 1 to 2 years old and I did not seem to find much of a consensus on the topic so.....

I need to purchace 2 heaters for my system approx 130g actual water volume. I live in a cold climate and we keep the house around 65 degrees most of the time (ya thats cool). So needless to say keeping that volume of water at 78~80 degrees is a tall order for any heater and my current arrangement is not working well.

I am looking for specifics here i.e. brands, wattages, contollers??, etc...

Any help would be greatly appreciated ;D

I have a 150g and use one 300 watt Via Aqua Titanium Heater. I live in Chicago and it gets very cold in the winter but we try to keep the house at 68 during the winter months.
I have been using one of these heaters in my sump for about 2 years and it keeps my temp at a steady 78. The cost is about $30 each comes with a wall mounted controller (included) and a separate temperature sensor for accurate temperature control.

I am using the 400 watt hydor theo heater. It was priced at 20 bucks and keeps the tank at 78 all the time.
