    Hey everybody.
So the other day I discovered a crack all the way across the return tube on my protein skimmer (cheap odysea ps75) dumping water everywhere. Now Im looking for a new skimmer. Found a bunch of Jebo 180's for about $50 on ebay. I know i shouldnt cheap out on a skimmer but my old one I only paid about $30 for three years ago and it's actually worked great once I figured it out! Never had a single problem until now.
So I was just wondering everyone's input on this. Anybody own this skimmer?
    Thanks!

I have never owned a jebo, but I have heard they are in a lot of reefers closets. If you think your $30 skimmer worked great, just wait till you see how an ASM, Octopus, Euro Reef, CPR, or other nice name brand yet affordable skimmer functions.

Yea im sure your right. Well when i first bought the odysea for $30 i really had no idea what i was doing, i just set up my first tank and just figured a skimmer was a skimmer. After a few months of not producing any skimate whatsoever (just light green colored water) I made a few mods and ran a small airpump to the intake side of the powerhead and it started pulling all kinds of nasty gunk out. Like i said, been working great for 3 years until now...
Money is really tight now with an out of work wife, im working less hours, and our 3 month old twin daughters. So im really trying to find something really affordable Wife will kill me if i spend more than $100. Any particular skimmer you recommend?
    Thanks,

Its all about finding the right deal. My skimmer would go for $400+ new easily with all the mods done, and I got it on a local RC forum for $100 and a 2 hour round trip. Cruise around craigslist and send e-mails to people selling whole setups asking if they would consider selling just their skimmer. Make sure you check out the general and pets sections, keywords like "coral", "reef", "fish", "saltwater" and "skimmer" will be very helpful.

You might want to check out the new AquaticLife Internal Mini Protein Skimmer 115. I plan on getting one for my 20g. You can find it on the Marine Depot site.

Jebos are one of the most poorly made products on the market. Cheap parts are used to keep price down, they don't last long either.
