I just got my 110 gal glass bowfront in. I need a new wet/dry filter and skimmer for it.I have only 30in length to work with.I would want an in sump skimmer for it. any recommendations? I was looking at a Berliner WD-125 Wet/Dry Filter
but the size of this leaves me with no extra space underneath but thats ok, but what skimmer?

also was looking at the megflow sump filter model 3 (up to 110 gal)also but not sure of a skimmer that will fit that.I would like model 4 since it goes up to 240 gal but i cant fit it so I would be at max. with model 3 but i guess thats ok. I hope you have some wise help for me.
I have on my 75gal tank that i am replacing , an amiricle really old sump and an old stand alone emperor aquatics series 6-1. Both would be at max on 110gal. and could not fit sump and skimmer under new tank.
    thank you:)

    Is this a reef?

Why do you think you need a wet/dry?

Agreed. Save money and just get a sump. Put the other money in a quality skimmer. No need for W/D.

How much live rock do you have, what type of reef do you want to keep?

Just a sump to hold your equipment.... skimmer, heater, media reactor. No need for anything else. If you want to add a fuge that is easy to do on one end..... macro algae, sand bed. A W/D is not needed, just be sure to stock your display tank with enough live rock. Plenty of other things to put your money in besides a W/D.

Plenty of good skimmers out for your size tank. A good skimmer willdo you wonders.

Thanks for the info. I did alot of reading since and have a different thought process while setting up the new tank. As for my existing tank, today I took out all the bio balls and live rock in the dry area of my wet/dry and put a deep bed of live sand and the live rock back and filled it with water. now a sump.:)

That is not a good thing. You just removed a big chunk of your bio-filter. You should expect a mini cycle and test your water. Do WC if necessary.

Well you said you put the live rock rubble back in and you do have a lot of live rock. When you remove your biballs most people phase them out to give time for the bacteria to establish else where. So it might not be too bad, but I would be suprised if you do not see a slight increase in ammonia and nitrites. Can't really say for sure.... just test daily and see how it goes. Maybe don't feed much the next few days just to see how it goes.
