Need advice on a yellow banded maroon clown

    I agree here. I bought my clowns as a pair. I waited till my LFS had a shipment then bought 2 clowns. They are happy and content.

    If the pairs are introduced correctly, (well cautiously is the more correct term) then you will have a more chance at success than just dumping the new guy in. If the established one is ramming the container and won't let up, at least the new guy won't get physically harmed. The older one may or may not let up, and then you will have to decide whether to chance it later on, or try to return him to the store unharmed.

    You can buy two clownfish.. but they pretty much have to be raised together. If they get added at separate times, they are going to be territorial. Especially maroons. I had a tomato clown that was living in my tank since the start and as soon as my maroon came, he picked his spot and made sure the tomato was no where in sight. I had to move my tomato to a different tank.

    If you plan on trying to pair them you need a size small and large. If they are close to the same size they'll fight to the death. I'v paired a few with no problems at these sizes. But unless the new one is a size LARGE I wouldn't try it.
