I have a betta in a 1 1/2 gallon tank. We will be going on vacation for 7 days and I'm wondering if I can use an automatic feeder. I watched a few videos on the Eheim but it seems to dispense a lot of food. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Find a friend to take it and feed it while you're gone? If it's only a week, I would say the betta would be fine not eating for that long. I used to sporadically feed mine.

I'd go with a piece of feeding block too.

Then just leave it. It takes quite a while for a fish to starve anyway, and a fasting period is normal in the wild. It will be hungry when you get back, but that's it.
