    Well, hey all once again. Just wonderin something. 312 watts of t-5 lighting should be sufficient for hardy corals, clams, and anemones, and pretty much all fish and inverts. I was looking at a MH supplemented by pc but that idea has gone down the drain due to the energy bill.

    pretty sure it is...depending on how high the tank is and how close the corals r to the lights...but sounds fine to me...i have 265w of pc on my 55 gal and acros grow fine and i have a very happy clam too :)

    Ya...thanks for the reply. I figured it was enough. The top of the tank to the top of sand bed is 18". The light will be 4 1/2" above tank.

    I'd be wary of keeping clams other than dersa clams and some SPS corals with standard flourescents. These bulbs do not penetrate as deep or put out as many lumens as power compacts. Check out wetwebmedia.com on reef lighting.

    Hi Raven...T-5's are the newest in Fluorescent lighting and are supposed to be much better than VHO and PC lighting. ;) :D I agree with you about the NO lighting tho!
