    urgggggggggggggggghhhhhh:cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry:

    i thought the same thing, but it does not have the feathery appearance as bryopsis, and most of it is like the first pics that brownish algae that now has a small layer over most the rocks, the green has only came up in select places. i had this same thing happen in my last tank then i tore it down and moved to a bigger tank and it followed me.

    aint bryopsis like impossible to remove with out tearing down the tank, and drying the rocks.

    I've been having a little battle with some hair alage, it did spread on a few of the rocks pretty quick, if only some corals would grow as quick as this! Anyway, I removed the rocks and gave them a serious scrub with a toothbrush, then a rinse and back in the tank. I had to do this a few times, as well as a few larger water changes and things have stabilised a bit now. I also got some Caulerpa in my fuge and now it is growing pretty quick I think it is competing a bit better with the nasty gha. I still have a few tuffs here and there but it is manageable.

    Good luck....and you will win. :)

    ok well i did get a 8 gal fuge going 2 weeks ago with cheato, culp.,garcilia. all growing good. also added another maxijet 1200 for a total in tank flow of about 30x my tank volume and hour, switched from frozen to pellet, and raised my lights few inches.

    but im a lil confused on what it actully is. (bryopsis plumosa) are their 2 dif algae people refer to as hair algae?

    like the green hair algae that everyone gets following the brown algae after a cycle. or is byopsis and this common hair algae the same thing.
