All this talk about filters reminded me I needed to clean mine and change out the media. Well as I was removing the media trays, I felt a sharp pain in my thumb, looked and I saw these things (see photo). Is it just me or do these look like little jellyfish???

Try putting them in a clear glass with salt water and watch how it swims or acts.

They are dead and gone now. I took pics of them just in case I had a reaction to them and hosed them off.

Yeah, already soaked it in ammonia and vinegar. Thanks for letting other people know that though, a lot of people don't think to do that.

ding ding ding!!! We have a winner! I never thought to look up hydrozoa. Ive had a few show up the past few months, wasnt sure if they were hydroids or just another type of feather duster, as I have several kinds of feather dusters, these glow fluorescent green under actinics (hydroids). I still have narrowed it down to witch specific type yet. Well Im glad you thought of that cause it would have taken it awhile before it dawned on me what it was, hahahaha! Thanks Omar! +karma
