Need an ID on red algae in the fuge.

    If you have a lot of current, or things like hermits, snails, gobies etc that like to stir up the sand, it will keep the problem in suspense and the filter will help take care of it. Current over the sand bed usually helps a lot if you do get it.

    Also, like mentioned earlier cut down on the feeding if it enters the display tank. I dont have a refugium unfortunately and have to watch all my alge blooms carefully...

    Good luck. And i wouldnt worry too much about the cyano in the refugium. Having a bit in there will help keep it away from the display tank...

    Thanks everyone for your help. I was at Exotic Aquatic and the refugium they have on their main reef tank looks just like mine with the mix of green and red. I took some pictures of their reef tank. This tank is flat out gorgeous. Check out the Black Tang! Take a look.8)

    They have a black tang in the same tank as a carpet anemone?! Now that's what I call brave!!
