What i basically want to know is if any of you are keeping your clown trigger with coral, and if so, then wat species. I would really like to keep a clown trigger in my main reef tank and i have seen many videos of clown triggers in reef tanks but have no idea if they are really voracious coral eaters like most say they are.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

it depends. like people, fish also have different personalities. for example, my algae blenny eats none of my algae and only eats flake food and sometimes frozen shrimp!!! It kind of depends on luck, but just to be sure for your case, if you get a clown trigger, quarantine it and add like maybe some zoanthids, something cheap. See what happens and if it doesn't work out return the trigger. MAKE SURE THE LFS TAKES IT BACK, or otherwise thats like $70-$120 right there on that fish

thats the case with most triggers but the clown trigger actually tends quickly "flip" and slaughter everything in the tank unexpectedly.

Talked with Joe from Atlantis Marine World (20,000g reef) he removed a clown trigger after about a week because it was harrassing too many fish and it was also going after a lot of softies. It is one of the most aggressive triggers, and that is saying a lot. IMO, it deserves a species tank.
