    i use ro/di water and my phosphates are always good. so do i still need to use gfo?

    RO/DI removes the phosphates from your NSW and top off wate rbut does not do anything for the phosphates introduced in foods and many salt mixes.

    I have no algae and keep chaetomorpha in my refugium but I still run a 1/2 dose of GFO and carbon in seperate bags or reactors at all times as a preventive measure. My nitrates and phosphates are non detectable using Salifert kits. Cheap insurance
