Yes, we bought the water already mixed. do you think we should stop doing that? we tested the water we bought for the salinity and it was good. we had our water also tested and everything was fine as far as ph/nitrite/temp etc.. do you think that we have something in the water such as a parasite or disease that is killing them?

we bought the water already mixed and the salinity was fine. we didn't check anything else though. why would the tang get the ich after the water change do you think it stressed him out? the guy at the store told us that we could have a tang in a 20 gallon? so that was pretty shitty of him to let us buy it knowing our situation.

does that mean that there is still ich in my tank? how do i get rid of it?

what do you think happened to the clownfish?

i had my water checked as far as nitrates/ph/temp/etc.. and everything was fine, so i'm worried as to what is going on?

There are very few LFS that will have your best interests in mind before theirs. As for Ick, all fish have ick, its the slime coat that protects them from the out-breaks. A healthy fish wouldnt get ick. Its just like us, we have all kinds of bacteria on us, but our immune system(IS) fights them off keeping us healthy. But what happens if our IS isnt up to par( stress, not eating correctly) we get a cold or the flu. Same thing with fish, the trick is to pinpoint what the problem is. QT that fish and dose some meds. We could only speculate about that, but you can ask the LFS if they are puliing it from the running sysytem or not. Someone else recently on 3reef bought "cycled" water from the LFS. Trust me you don't want to get us started on that one. If they are getting it from their tanks yes you can get all kinds of unwanted things, meds, copper(probably not in this instant) and parasites.

Luna is right there is a long debate about ick always being present and healthy fish fight them off. Only thing that we know for sure is that the tang got stressed as a result of the ick, or caught the ick as a result of being stressed. With the clown going south as well I'd say the fish are stressed from something.

I misread the post earlier and sorry to hear you lost the clown as well. With that said though if a clown is stressed you need to get to the bottom of it asap? All your parameters checked out was the temp the same or pretty close to the water you added compared to the tank temp?
