    I hear ya. I lost all but 1 fish, half the coral, & all the shrimp. Luckily I was able to get a generator after 2 days, it was getting cold in the house and all the food would have been gone too.

    I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. That is a long time without power not only for the tank but for humans as well. We lost power for 6 days during Ike and it was hell and that was in the fall when the temp. wasn't too bad. I lost all of my fish - day by day another one would pass. I've learned on here about the D battery and aeration for the future. It was awful - you learn to appreciate the little things like a nice, hot shower! I would think you could keep the rock and aerate it and let it cycle......at least you can keep that from the original set up.

    I think having a generator or having access to a generator is vital to any outage events. Sorry for your loss, but I think everyone learned from your lesson as well. Thank you.
