I'm putting a sump in my red sea 34. Can I just have a hose with a valve being syphoned into thesump flow volume controlled by ball valve and matched to the return pump?

    Question 2.
This is mostly for water volume and fuge do I need to cycle the fuge? Is be putting new sand and a small chunk of my cured rock. My tank is fully stocked and would have to work in conjunction with my stock rear sump, skimmer etc.
    Thank you.

answer 1: no idea what you are talking about

Answer 2: This depends on what your definition of "established" is for the DT, and depends on the amount of sand. When I added a 30 G fuge, I added a 10lbs bag of dry sand and just let the tank run its course. No problems.
