    When I plug it in, nothing happens. Might that just be the propeller doo-dad? It looks like a medieval torture grinder.

    My skimmer would take 5-6 plug in attempts before it would actually turn on, then it just died completely. I thought it was the motor but it turned out to be the propeller. That might be your problem, but who knows! Good luck getting it fixed!
