I have a algae blenny in my tank... Hes not vibran't or colorful like most of the other fish. He has some neat traits though!. Changes color when he's in the sand or rock or on my back of my aquarium... Pretty cool when hes on the red live rock I have. he turns pink! LOL. I would say go with a blenny after research if they wont go after your coral. Very personable and unique imo.

and i also have an algae blenny i like there colors if you look at them kinda close they have bright light blue dots all along there tail and around there eyes and mine has a yellow tail and a red dorsal fin but other than that hes usually black and white and if he has eaten alot of algae then he turns a little green i love mine they have alot of personality and is the only fish that stands up for himself in my tank against the tyranical rule of the BLUE DAMSEL

I would vote some type of dwarf angel if you're interested in a larger ish fish. Flame Angel, Pygmy Angel, and Lemonpeels get my vote. I would vote coral beauty as well, but you already shared your thoughts on those :D

If you want to trade color for personality, get a blenny. Some can be dull looking, but they are like flippin' puppies. We have a molly miller (algae) blenny who has doubled in length since we got him, and he has the most personality out of any other fish. He's too cute and weird to get mad at, even though he's a pig and annoys other fish :D We actually got him from a friend of mine who was getting rid of him because he kept finding him in his overflow box chowing down on algae, and then the blenny enjoyed sitting on his clam. After a few days of hoping the clam would chomp his head off, he gave him to us instead :p

So my vote is a dwarf angel of sorts and/or a blenny. Also, if you want schooling fish, firefish are actually community fish, so 2 of those would be neat IMO. Or blue chromis.

Got to throw a vote in there for the flame hawk-this fish can't swim ( or float is more like it), he sinks and flaps and sinks etc. Its funny to watch, all he can do to gain a foot in the tank and then he sinks
Talking about a kick-always up front and in your face-
    Lots of character/personality
Mine is Bart-not sure why but maybe the eyes

He sees the camera and its "here I am"

I have a few ideas I'd like to share. I have a Royal Gramma and he's ok but he tends to hang out on his side of the tank. I've seen him open his jaw to the Solar Wrasse I have just once. I have bigger and tougher fish that keep territorial fish in check. Another fish that I like is the Lemonpeel Angel. He's beautiful and active and all over the tank looking for algae. Or, how about 3 Green Chromis'. They school together and add life to the tank. I like the Flame Hawk too but I hear they eat crustachens as well as the Dragon Wrasse. They are fine if your not going to have shrimp but you do need snails and hermits.. I had both the Flame Hawk and the Dragon Wrasse in my old fish only tank. The Dragon Wrasse sleeps under the sand and could cause an avalache also.
My fish follow me everywhere I go in the room it's hilarious!;D
