Need help on finalizing checklist on things to get

Ok so before i get my light i plan to get the last few things i need, here is what i have so far

1. Refractometer
2. Carbon
3. filter pads for my filter
4. one more powerhead

anything else that i could be missing?

 

What else do you have?

 

protein skimmer, test kit, 2 maxijett 1200 powerheads, emperor 400 powerfilter, heater, and that's it

 

I think you should upgrade one of the maxi-jets with the sure flow mod. You have a small tank and this will help keeping it uncluttered by making it so you dont have to add another power head.

Get the refractometer asap, swing arms are never right.

 

Do you have all the test kits or just a saltwater starter set. Test kits for calcium, magnesium, phosphate, alk, etc. You may also want to get a light timer.

 

2nd job to support your new addiction

 

i was thinking of going adding a powerhead that's powerful to add with the maxijets, or keep one maxijet and have one other really powerful powerhead, what brand suggest i look into

 

i don't have a test kit for calcium, magnesium or phospate, but i do have it for alk, nitrate nitrite, ammonia, ph, and one other thing, oh yea light time would be good

i suggest you just buy the sureflo kit for the maxi jet.......you must not relieze what 1600 gph or 2100gph really is huh i had 2xhydor k1s and 2xhydor k2s in my 55 i added a maxi jet with 2100 gph mod and took it out 5 minutes later, its strong trust me that with one regular maxi would be perfect
