Need Help Picking Protein Skimmer

I have a 110G SW tank and a 35 gallon sump(RS 300). Sump is going to be a Berlin Style w/LR. Tank will start out as a FOWLR and then add corals later. Which one would be best suited for my tank. There are so many makes an models of PS's, it is just mind boggling. Where to start, each fish store you visit has there manufacturers that they sell. No LFS, closest one is 2 hours away. I can have it shipped to me though.

 

check out Marinedepot.com , I went with a HOB aquamaxx which is making great skimmate for my 55g. Expect at least a $200 investment, most will work and a necessity. Each has their little quirks and may take some small mods to work at their best, but that is part of the hobby. Nothing like the smell of skimmate in the morning!

 

Check out the Sc150. There is a thread for it on this forum I would search for it. It is a $100 skimmer that does an excellent job. Just check out the forum the results speak for themselves

Always go with a larger than needed skimmer. Shackman23 has a reef octopus for sale http://www.3reef.com/forums/sale/getting-out-bit-128268.html. Check it out it may be a steal.
