i bought a 20 gallon extra tall tank to use as a sump for my 29 gallon biocube that currently houses octavious the octopus. its a bassic stand set up, sump under the tank. all the plumbing needs to be in the overflow portion of the tank to keep him in the tank :) ... thanks in advance for the help

i will also be needing a return pump any suggestions there?

im thinking i will need to cut away some of the insides of the back of the tank to get more flow through it or will this be unnecessary?

PM schackmel for info on escape proofing an octopus tank. A Mag 5 will be more than adequate for the return pump.

as of now the tank is fully escape proofed. he has been in there for awhile now...but we were misinformed that it was a dwarf and put him in a 29 biocube. he is needing more water volume and we cannot set up another tank so a sump is the only option. does anyone have any plans for a sump on a bio cube?

Wouldn't the octopus need more space then water volume?

yes but right now this is the best i can do for him...the extra water volume allows for more oxygen for it to breathe. he will be going into a bigger tank when we talk my gf thinger into letting us set up another tank.
