I have had this dogface for a little over 3 months, He has had ich awhile back but it went away and wasn't bad. Now he looks horrible, it doesn't really look like it it almost looks like white slime or something. It's not round spots. He has always had a big appetite and will still pick at food. I was wondering if i should QT him and what I should treat for, I just don't want to stress him out anymore. He also has this wierd spot on the top of his head that kinda looks like a pimple. He has had it ever since I bought him and it has healed up before and seems like it came back after being sick. He is in a 65 gallon with a dragon wrasse and niger trigger. Thank you for the help!

No idea what it is. I can only say get your parameters very good and hopefully it will go away on its own. I don't think you can treat puffers with copper as they will absorb it and get sick.

Making sure your parameters a well withing normal range, with no temperature swings and enhancing it's diet with selcon, garlic or equiv. Prehaps try some melafix as well. He looks very sick and with the cloudy eye it maybe related to elevated ammonia and or nitrates levels.

    Good luck.

That's were I'm confused, I checked all my water tests and everything comes out as perfect. He looks like he is dragging a slime with the white stuff on it. I have never seen it before

Could the slim be the fish losing its slim coating after ich has taken hold? That's what I've noticed with my fish after they get ich. not being able to cure it they seem to get this slim coating slothing off of them. I believe it's this which ultimately kills them. Although I'm not positive. I've been told it opens them up to infections like fin rot. Sadly, once any of my fish start losing that slim, they would die within 48 hours.

I am sorry, I wish I could recommend something, but he looks too sick to make it through a freshwater bath, the stress would most likely kill him. Secondary to the appearence of his skin it also looks llike copper or formalin would kill him as well.
All I can think of is a wide spectrum antibiotic.

    Sorry:-[

sorry to here about your dogface. i hope he pulls through they are really cool fish. selcon is some good stuff. it has always helped get my stuborn fish eating ever since i found out about it. maybe if you use it he can get strong enough to help pull through jmo. good luck i know what its like to try to get a fish back to health. just keep trying.
