I have a rock that is completely covered by hairy mushrooms and i would like to frag them off.

How can i get them off the rock...
and can i just slice them like i would with other mushrooms

I scalpel mushrooms off the rock and then dice them. Hairy are no different.

9 times out of 10 any leftover flesh on the rock will generate into a new 'shroom.

so you would just irratate the mushroom then use a razor to cut off the base off the rock...... then just dice them up? [IMG][/IMG]

I shouldn't have said dice. Start with quarters or halves until you get an understanding of what happens and what to expect.

It's best to get the rock the rock out of the water and cut outside of the tank. Cut the shroom as close to the rock as you can possibly get.
