    Yip they do move around or detach to find a better spot.but you are saying it moved only 2 inch or so.if thats the case mine do this all the time when they are going to form another. one gets all wrinkled and starts to slide to one side leaving a small bit left behind that in a few weeks becomes a whole new shroom..congrats you may have a new born soon...lol :cheesy:
