    Congrats on the new light.

You can acclimate a couple ways and or a combination of all.

    1. Cut back on the photo period and increase slowly over a period of about 2 weeks.
    2. Put screening over the tank and remove layers as appropriate. You can usually find the screening at any home store.
    3. Raise the fixture for a couple weeks.

Thanks corraline;) Going home at noon to check on new look,;) do you think putting all corals on substrait will help? Have a huge toadstool i cant move, maybe the screening plus shorter photo period is going to be my choice,I have never had MH lights so i am very excited just dont want to burn up the little dudes;)

    Yes that will help.

If you have not changed out bulbs in the old fixture in while then you should go pretty darn slow.

I have melted corals just changing out MH bulbs.

Personally I really like MH but it can be too intense initially. I have melted my share of LPS and Mushrooms.

The Cabbage coral should probably be moved down along with the leather next to the Gorgonian. You might want to move the Mushrooms to a shaded area and then slowly move them out.

+1 to a nice looking tank and Toadstool, that thing is huge.

wow! The tank is looking totally awesome running! It would be very interesting if you posted a before/now shot. You've accomplished a lot in short period of time. Congrats on the new light! It sounds like you've gotten premium advice on acclimation :)
