need help with ca/alk

    tested today with api so i came up with 380 in the ca and 7 in the alk ,any help raising it

    i have a ATO system with a 5 gallon bucket of RO/DI that i use to top it off, when i fill the bucket up wtih the RO/DI water, i put a table spoon of Mrs.Wages Pickling Lime powder in the bucket, you can get it from walmart for 2-4 bucks.

    these are my prams :

    PO4 = <0.3
    KH/Alk = 13.8
    Ca = 500
    NH3/NH4+ = 0
    NO2- =0
    NO3-=0
    pH=8.4
    daytime temp 80
    SG=1.026

    What is your salinity reading? Looks like it may be reading around 1.023-24. 7 for Kh is ok as is 380 for your ca. I wouldn't go chemical yet without first checking. If your salinity is in the lower end (still ok though) you can raise your ca just by raising your salinity.

    yea i run around 1.023/24 did a water change today of 25 gal will check again tomorrow i dont want to go chemical if i dont have to, ill keep it up with water changes .
