I bought this coral yesterday. The guy I bought it from didn't sound too sure on the name of it but finally called it a fuzzy mushroom. I have been searching for that and through pics of other corals that look similar but I am not very good yet at identifying corals. I want to make sure I am taking care of it properly and an accurate name would be nice too.

I have seen them called fuzzy mushrooms, hairy mushrooms.
i had them originally, they are bery hearty, but pack a pretty good sting, it got mixed up with my Horn Coral and whooped its butt.
It strated as a single mushroomd and double after about 2 months.
here is a link to Live Aquaria for a little more info-this is the scientific name-Rhodactis indosinensis!!

yup, I agree also, hairy or fuzzy mushroom, I have a few, you can give it some mysis or brine squirt it close to the mouth and it will close up on it while it eats.

Keep an eye on your clownfish. They may take interest in hosting these predatory mushrooms. Not sure of size ratios, but, something to definitely consider.

Thanks for the replies. I'll keep an eye on them. If they get any of the fish, they would probably get the purple psuedo. He is the only one I have seen near it. The psuedo is the bully of the tank. I think I may try to find a Sarcophyton and see if the clowns will take to that.

I think I type like Im drunk or something-LOL

Your Psuedo should be fine, I never fed mine anything, they grow like weeds so I had to get rid of mine. I wanted more color and that meant more money and my 20.00 shroom made it to the short list, especially after what happened to the horn. I'ld never seen anything like that, it was like a few yards of string, or thread coming out of the Horn Coral-Looked like he got hammered and spilled his guts-nuttin but intestines:-X, 5-6 days later it was all heald. And I heard the Horn Coral was nasty.

Check out the link I included if you have not it gives a good heads up.
