You glue them. Gel super glue works good for this.

    Hello and Welcome to 3reef.

You can use underwater epoxy or super glue gel. It really depends of the type of frag and what it is already attached to.

You apply the glue to the frag after you remove it from the disc or the disc outside of the water then apply to the rock with a circular motion to break the skin on the glue that forms on contact with water. Make sure the point you apply the glue on the frag or disc is dry.

Yes you can glue it underwater you just have to hold it for a couple minutes.

You can glue the ceramic ring or remove the corals from the plug if possible. Depends on the coral though, hard corals are much easier to remove. Soft corals like xenia, zoanthids, mushrooms, colts are harder to remove without some damage.

    Hi eric

can you post a picture or tell us exactly which coral it is your discussing here?

as the advise given would vary between different coral types

ceramic ring, I have seen pulsing xenia attached to ceramic rings, ( they look like oversized filter media rings and are normally used to weigh down plastic plant pots in freshwater set ups)

sometimes LPS corals likes Wellso, Trachy, etc are placed on ceramic rings in the sand bed, as this keeps the flesh from scratching on the sand as they expand and contract
and corals like that, are best left on the ring and the ring partially but not fully buried in the sand bed to hide it a little

but as stated, an image or a name of the coral type your dealing with, will help to get you the most precise advise on dealing with said coral

    Steve

Since im new to corals also and this is about frag plugs, does it hinder the growth of the frags if you dont remove them from the plugs? I only have GSP and birds nest so far and just glued them to my live rocks?
