So I was at my lfs today and I saw this frag that was glowing. I asked them what it was and they weren't sure either. It has a fan worm growing on it so I thought what the heck at least I will have a fan worm to put in my tank if the coral doesn't work. One of the parts I was wondering about is the white part towards the middle of the pic. I was also wondering about the red tree thing and the green bubbles. I can try to get a better pic if needed.
    Thanks in advance

It's some type of favia with a dead spot. A little TLC and some good water/light/flow will bring that back in no time.

The green bubbles are bubble algae- need to get rid of that. The "red tree thing" appears to be some type of soft coral, perhaps a tree or colt.

Thanks for the help everyone. I pulled the frag out and plucked all the bubble algae off and rinsed the frag with saltwater before putting it back. I'll try to get a better pic of the red stuff tomorrow when my lights come back on.

When you took it out, did the red stuff stay looking the same, or did it shrivel up? If it stayed pretty much the same, it's algae LOL.

It pretty much stayed the same.
Would it be better to remove it and place it in my sump when I get it running? Also how much space should I leave between a favia and other corals?

Well the red stuff must have been algae I woke up this morning and the frag was knocked over and the only thing left was the favia? and fan worm. Looks like the work of a turbo snail to me.
