I had an outbreak of Red slime about 2 months ago... My nitrates were spiked, but now everything is under control. No nitrates and no red slime. Every coral looks great and very healthy...

But... Not my Acans. Ever since the nitrate spike they have been retracted and some parts have even died off....

I need help figuring out what i need to do and what the issues could be.
I have them both placed on the sand and in the middle of the tank.
    I have t-5 4 bulb 220watt ATI 1purple plus, 2 Atin... 1 day light.
They seem to be the only coral that are having an issue in my tank.
I use part a and B calcium dosing....

Please help... Acans are my favorite and I would love to buy more but i cant till i figure out this problem. Thanks Jon

My Acans seem to be as finicky as my SPS. Maybe try positioning them a little higher in the tank. If you are worried about to much instensity, maybe cut down the run time of your daylights but honestly, with that setup they shouldn't be over lite

Bacterial infection. Dip them in Furan 2 for 15 minutes. VERY gently blow off any loose particles, especially around the outer rim. A whitish slime ring may come off. Repeat in a few days for any acans that don't open up fully.

I had problems with acans until I started this treatment. Now, they grow like crazy.

Wanted to add that I always do a 10 minute CoralRx dip after the Furan, but that's mostly out of habit. Not completely necessary in this case.

Furan 2 comes in tablet form, made by API. You can order it just about anywhere.
