need help with my coral

    need help with my coral . my anemones tentacles are damaged i dont know if they are fallen off or being eaten by a fish. i had a long tentacle anemone it was fine for about 2 weeks woke up in the morning and his tentacles were gone. now my other tentacle coral is missing a few and dont look to healthy. but all other nontentacle coral is doing fine. i have a few fish a yellow tail danselfish,niger triggerfish,4 of the false pacular clown fish all levels are good. lots of live rock.can anyone help with this prolblem? fordoffroad22@yahoo.com thanks​

    how old is your tank? and what kind of lighting do you have? when you say your levels are good, how good are they?

    levels r no/3 o,no/2 0,alkalinity is 80///120PH8.4and everythings runsgood just dont feel like typing all out light is conpack 4-duletub65 watt but i dont think lighting has anything to do with it when all the coral whear at bottom it was fine then i put them all at the top for more lighting thats when it all bad thanks

    niger triggerfish are known to nip at sponges, tunicates, ornamental crustaceans and snails. If you can, watch him/her.

    How old is his tank ? over a yr or less then a yr in age.

    It seems to me that your water parameters or your amount of dissloved nutrients may be out of sync!
    Believe it or not but, anemones are NOT a good idea unless you have ideal water parameters and lighting. Especially for someone new to the hobby, it is best to pass anemones by unless you start off with a rock/flower anemone to start off with.
    You can't really compare corals to anemones for the most part as it isn't a good indication or comparison of your overall success of your tank and its inhabitants.
    Hopefully your anemone will make a full recovery!

    to coral reefer whats the ones to start off with i dont like anemones it was just cheap and i just wanted to see if my tank was good to start puting stuff in yet it has polyps in the tank dont wher thay all came from but thay do good thay growefast and other stuff is growen

    Tank is to young for an anemone I'm guessing less then 6 months from what you described was happening they require a very stable and aged system for long term health.. The slightest hint of Ammonia or NO2's and they will do what you described until they totally melt away..
