hi not sure if ive ever really done anything on this forum i usually use livingreefs but im not getting to much info so i figured i would seek more help.

i just bought a 37 gallon cube tank dimensions 20x18x25. i also bought a marineland reef capable 18-24in led light. it was kind of an impulse buy and im not sure if it was the best idea. i want to have alot of rock and coral in the tank. but i cant afford buying a $300 and up light. im trying to find a good alternative. i have a odyssea 18" metal halide pendant that seems pretty good and its only $109. if thats good enough i could take back what i bought and use what i save to get a good skimmer. also heres a link to both lights

please help me make the right choice.

also if it helps as of now i have
2 clown fish one orange and one black
    1 coral banded shrimp
    1 red thorny starfish
    1 condy anemone
    1 coral beauty

Is the system fish only? Or are you keeping corals?

If you are keeping coral, then we would need to know which ones to really give you sound advice. That Marineland fixture will be fine for aesthetically lighting your tank, but will provide little/no benefit to coral.

Conversely that metal halide fixture is okay as a temporary one, but I would be wary of using it long term.

Fishneedit.com fixtures are pretty cheap and seem to have decent reviews from what I have seen. They may warrant a deeper look into IMO.

thanks for the reply. as i posted i do plan on having coral i dont know much about coral i think i want soft coral? other than that i just need help based off that info. ill look into the fishneedit stuff. from what i read a few people have had the odyssea light for over 6 months and still fine. and the marineland light have been told works but from what i read it just shines straight down and might not penetrate deep enough. this is just what ive looked into so far.
